today im gonna be blogging about ICE MILO EASY COOL!
okay yes, my studying has finally got the better of me and while reading the advert of this product, i linked it back to chemistry
WHY IS MILO POWDER SOLUBLE IN COLD WATER?
this is what ive got so far:
-when the temperature of the system is decreased, by LCP, the system will counteract the decrease in temperature by favouring the exothermic reaction which produces heat. thus, the forward reaction which is the breaking of bonds in the milo powder to form ions in water must be exo.
Eh but wait a minute, is milo even ionic?
-Enthalpy change of solution is the enthalpy change when one mole of a solute is completely dissolved in a solvent to form an infinitely dilute solution under standard conditions of 298K and 1 atm.
ΔH (sol) = ΔH (hyd) - ΔH (LE)
okay i dont know about their ΔH (hyd) but i think it kinda impossible to change the lattice energy of milo right? i mean they are made of the same ingredients meaning that they are made by the same compounds with the same lattice structure. Right?
so im back to square one.
IM STILL DUMB! :(
